Guest Author - Jennifer Joyce plus UK giveaway

Today I have the pleasure of introducing Jennifer Joyce as part of her blog tour

Ruth loves nothing more than curling up in front of the telly with a family-sized bar of chocolate. She doesn’t do diets and she certainly doesn’t do exercise. But all that changes when she’s invited to her school reunion.
Bullied at school for being overweight, Ruth’s first reaction is to rip the invitation into a million pieces. But then Ruth hatches a plan. She’ll lose the weight and arrive at the reunion looking gorgeous and glamorous, leaving her old classmates in awe. Especially her former crush, Zack O’Connell.

With the help of her friends and a new, unbelievably hot colleague, Ruth begins her transformation. With six months until the reunion, losing weight will be a piece of cake, right?

I asked Jennifer a few questions

Please tell us a little about your latest book, A Beginner's Guide to Salad.
A Beginner’s Guide To Salad is about the weight-loss bid of Ruth Lynch. Bullied as a child for being overweight, Ruth is horrified when she receives an invitation to her school reunion until she devises a plan to shed the weight and shock her former classmates with her transformation.
Is this your first published book?
It’s my first published full-length novel but I published a standalone short story, A Beginner’s Guide To Christmas last year.
What inspired you to write?
I can’t remember not writing. I was always scribbling down bits of story as a child but it wasn’t until I attended a children’s author’s talk at the local library that I realised it was something I could do seriously. It was my dream from then on to become a published writer.
What type of cooking is your favourite and why?
Anything easy! Seriously, I’m not a very good cook. I can’t just take a bunch of ingredients and throw them together. I need thorough instructions for the most basic dishes.
What would be your food heaven and your food hell?
Food heaven for me is pasta. I can’t get enough of it and it’s something everyone in my house enjoys (I live with the world’s fussiest eaters).

Food hell for me is spicy food. I’m a wimp! A mild curry is my limit.

  2. Brilliant prizes. I know that I have had that nightmare thought of a school reunion while not looking quite the beanpole I was at school! Not that I ever was really.

  3. Brilliant concept, this will go straight to my TBR! I'm divided on the subjects of salad and dieting. I don't actually like green leaves although I do eat them. I'm not a fan of dieting although I do try to. LOL. Maybe this book will be my salvation. Great giveaway too.... ;-)

  5. Oh my goodness, puts me in mind of the school reunion I attended a few years ago. So many people trying to pretend that they were other than what they had been at school and yet the 'clever crowd' all sat together as did the 'pretty kids' leaving me and two other 'outsiders' to reminisce about our time.

    Great giveaway, good luck everyone.
